I am a clueless dude who stumbled into trading and investment because I was becoming a dad and I didn't want to leave my kid with nothing when I die. Along the way, I made money gambling on dog money, lost all the money earned. Then I lost some more money to cover the losess of family who traded based on my advise. I started learning technical analysis in order to trade more profitably and promptly went on to lose some more money. Somewhere along the line I started making profitable trades and I realised what I was getting wrong all the time previously. But that is a story for a seperate time.

Weird weird dream.

Over the past 20 odd years, I've had some pretty weird dreams. And there are some that I can even remember now!

I had one more weird dream to add to my collection last night... ...

There were many people in the dream and we were all gathered in a school compound for some kind of singing competition, sort of like Singapore Idol.

The competition was pretty open ended too, because you can join as an individual or you can join as a group and you can sing any damn song you please!

My group was the 3rd group to perform, but first I will recall what the previous 2 groups did.

The first group was made up of about 6-7 guys, make that 6-7 very ugly guys who fantasized that they are a boyband. And the song they sang was the "Hey, come on, energy zai shi fang" song... ...

Oh boy, they did try. I remembered seeing them dance, well sort of, because I can't decide if they are really dancing or just jumping aimlessly around.

The crowd was visibly relieved when they're done with their 3 minutes of fame.

The second group of performers was just as unconventional. It was a troupe of singing ballet dancers. And they were all about the age of 12-14 years old. The lead singer was a young boy with a superb voice and he chose his song well. As his co-performers danced their ballet stuff he started singing, "Don't crrryyyy fffoooorrrrr mmmmeeeee Argentina......"

Everyone present suddenly let out a sincere gasp of concern for the little singing boy, fearing that he might run out of breath midway and drop dead.

Then one of the judges stood up after 7 minutes and told the boy that he has dragged his song for too long and he has exceeded his allocated time by 1 minute. The boy was shooed away by 2 stage management crew while the rest of his group continued dancing. The boy was almost done with the first line of his song.

With the limelight suddenly falling on her, the lead dancer got nervous. Somehow, she slipped but didn't fall, but from then on her dance went very screwed. It reminded me of a musical box, the kind where the ballerina figurine would spin/dance for you if you open the box.

That kind. But with a very loose screw.

She managed to keep spinning all the time, but everyone could see she was off balance and swaying dangerously from one side to the other. Her expression which was clear for all to see was one of pain and embarrassment.

Her co-dancers saw the story her face told as well. And knowing for sure that their chance of making it in the competition is about as good as finding crude oil reserve in the Sembawang hot springs, they saddly plotted a way out of the stage and danced their way towards the exit. They probably had alot of dance left in them, just no more will.

Finally its my group to perform. And these are the people who make up the team, Weiwen, Kailin, Kaijun and me. Don't ask me why it's the 4 of us, I can never answer that.

Weiwen came in late for our gathering. He walked in while the boyband was performing, and he even walked across the stage in the middle of the performance, throwing the boyband into a few moments of panic and confusion. Maybe they thought they had 1 more member who they have never known! Haha..

Halfway through the second performance, I finally ask Weiwen the most important question in the dream, "What song are we singing today?"

He said he don't know and told me to ask Kaijun, and Kaijun said the lyrics are all with Kailin and told me to go look for her.

Kailin grabbed a sheet of paper and handed it to me. Though I realized that the lyrics I had were different from the lyrics she had, I shrugged it off and started reading.

Apparently the song was originally sang by Fish Leong, but the lyrics was something I've never seen before! The lyrics was written like it was some kind of 古文... And even then there were many phrases in the song that would fit more comfortably on a mahjong table.

Whatever... ...

It was our turn to sing and we stood fanned out in front of the judges, and then upon cue from Weiwen, we all started singing, our own songs! Everyone in our quartet was singing a different song and our small choir of noise and nonsense was doing quite well at that.

When we were finally done, all red faced. One of the judges asked what went wrong and I said, "Well, it's normal, we always have problems communicating."

The second judge then told us that our chance of making it into the next round what slim and I replied that it was okay, that there are more things in life then just being a good singer.

I don't know why, but at this point I told the judge (the 水上飘 baldie in the channel U show) that I'm a buddhist and that "我很多事都看得很开". At this point he asked me what I mean by that and so I replied, "人事,物事,事事"

I got a little ahead of myself and told him that that was probably why I always got over sadness very fast, even if I lost someone or something close and dear to me.. .. ..

I woke up, the dream was getting too much.
